Thank you for learning more about Sioux Falls!  As Mayor, I’m extremely interested in what you think and how we can make Sioux Falls a better place to live, work and play.  I’ve lived here all my life, earned degrees from the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana College, and worked in several industries before becoming mayor in 2002.  I started my career as a teacher and coach, then worked at Citibank South Dakota as executive director of CitiHousing, Inc, where I worked to bring affordable housing to Sioux Falls residents.

I truly believe we need to build our city around young professionals, which means creating the kind of place that’s appealing to you.  I love downtown Sioux Falls, our beautiful parks system and all of our neighborhoods.  And I know if you explore our city, you’ll find it’s a great place to be too.  But we can always do better, so we need your feedback.  Let us know what you like about Sioux Falls and what more we could do for you!

You’re also represented by eight City Council members.  Three of them serve “at large” (they serve the whole city) and the remaining five represent local districts.
